Team Leader: Jerry Chiu

Benefits and Disadvantages Analysis of GBA (2024-2025)

This report analyzes the benefits and disadvantages of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). It examines key areas including tourism, transport, social welfare, housing, culture, healthcare, sports, finance, and the environment. For each, it outlines opportunities such as economic integration and improved living standards, alongside challenges like cross-border friction, inequality, and cultural gaps. Practical suggestions are offered to strengthen cooperation between Hong Kong, Macao, and mainland cities, aiming to foster deeper integration and mutual understanding.

A Warning for the Development of Human Civilisation
(since 2022-now)

Climate change is already disrupting economies, societies, and ecosystems worldwide, citing floods in Brazil, wildfires in California, and storms across South and Southeast Asia. It reviews the European Space Agency's (ESA) satellite data and education programmes, including Climate from Space and Climate Detectives. Based on research and a petition reflecting Hong Kong students' and parents' concerns, the report urges ESA to expand its educational reach and international cooperation, positioning climate change as a core issue of economic stability and long-term development.

The report recognizes ESA's contributions to climate education through programmes like Climate from Space, the Climate Change Initiative, and Climate Detectives, which provide satellite data and hands-on learning. It suggests ESA expand these resources beyond Europe, widening its global reach while advancing its Strategy 2040 goals, especially "Protect our Planet and Climate" and "Inspire Europe," by sharing climate knowledge across countries and sectors.

03

Global Issues ( stay tuned...)

We are currently consolidating a report on pressing global issues, including food shortages, heatwaves, extreme weather across the North and South Poles, floods, storms, and glacial melting. These extreme weather has already triggered severe accidents such as mudslides — in Nepal and elsewhere — causing massive loss of life.

These developments demand our full attention, and we are continuously gathering additional data to conduct a more comprehensive analysis. Our goal is to summarize these interconnected challenges and offer practical suggestions and ideas to address them.
